The CASA ROSA Penthouse is situated in the village of Monzone, tucked in the Lunigiana area of Tuscany.
The Penthouse is in a newly renovated traditional rustic villa development with a communal swimming pool, offering an open plan living/dining area and 2 en-suite bedrooms, one double and one twin. A further double bedroom and a 'family' bathroom to service the guests staying in the living area, which boasts one double bed settee. The penthouse is fully furnished, with a television/DVD, towels and linen, an oven/microwave, and enough crockery/cutlery/glasses for 8 people.

The Villa dates back to 1742 has been lovingly restored to its former glory and includes original features. All restorations have been completed to high English standards.

The Penthouse is within walking distance of all amenities, from shops to restaurants. The Italian locals are warm and friendly and encourage you to embrace their way of life. Good food and excellent local wines will help you unwind from the stresses of modern day living.

Monzone has a good selection of shops and a trattoria serving some of the best antipasti to be found in the area: Da Remo on Via C. Battisti tel: 0585 97933, (Via C. Battisti is the main street through Monzone so you can't miss it. Very good food - the antipasti is a must, friendly efficient service with a smile but it is closed Monday.)

Monzone has a bank, shops and a train station with a local train to Lucca, La Spezia and Pisa, although they do go on the slower more scenic route! Just half-hour east is the ski resorts of the Aulpan Alps and half hour west is the coastal town of Marina de Massa.

Lunigiana is situated in the northern corner of Tuscany, Italy. It is an unspoiled area of breathtaking natural beauty set between the Apennine Mountains and the Mediterranean coastline of Italy. Road and air easily access this sunlit land of chesnut covered hills crowned by medieval villages. Here you will enjoy the very best of Italy - wonderful landscapes, good food and a warm Italian welcome. As well as the opportunities for sightseeing, Lunigiana is the perfect destination for walking, bike riding or horse riding in the hills of Tuscany and skiing in the winter.

Monzone's neighbouring town of Equi Terme is a popular Italian spa town, famous for the medicinal properties of its sulphurous thermal waters, is another special experience. You can lounge by the thermal pool, take spa treatments, or get a massage in the newly remodelled and expanded spa.

Go through Monzone towards Equi Terme and you will find the restaurant at the fork standing on the edge of the river. Excellent food very popular on summer evenings.

PIZZERIA - Gragnola The Best Pizza in the World!
There is a small pizzeria, which you will find by turning down the small alleyway half way up the high street. Follow the sign.

DA REMO - Monzone Tel 0585 - 97933
Doesn’t look much, but offers wonderful food at a good price. They do a wonderful ‘antipasto’ which keeps coming to the table. The pasta dishes are different from the usual Italian standard ones. If you want something for a main course the ‘tagliata’ at Da Remo is lovely. Rare beef which has been marinated and quickly grilled, served on a bed of Rucola.

AL VECCHIO TINO - Closed Wed +39 0585 97733
On a hill top near Mezzana above Monzone. Incredible views and some of the best food you'll find anywhere in Italy. Not easy to find. As you enter Mezzana, turn sharply left (there is a sign) and keep going.....
Al Vecchio Tino restaurant and Agriturismo Germalla are the ideal places where spend your holidays. Both are family business: the owners will be at direct contact with their guests. Claudio, the chef, will delight you with refined dishes at Al Vecchio Tino restaurant.
